Green is better than being mean

Green seems to keep people keen

Green is the smell of freshly cut grass

Being green can make our world last

Green is better than throwing in the bin

As so much waste is becoming a sin

Put your peelings on a compost heap

To start recycling is not a big leap

Place your plastic, paper and cardboard in a recycling bag

If you don’t all ready do it you must be mad

Cardboard and paper, will save a tree later

Shred all those pieces if they have lots of data

Have a nice brew of your favourite tea

Then place them on your compost just like me

Green, white and brown are the bottle bins

Recycle your bottles along with your tins

Butter tubs,  bottle tops

Juice cartons and yogurt pots

Recycling your clothes is not only one way                  

Hand them in and be paid today

Don’t make it a chore

Throw on your compost your apple core

Why don’t you recycle your egg shell

It is not a pain as it does not smell

It’s not hard to do it’s like one and two

So look hard in the wardrobe and recycle that shoe

Green can be clever, green can be cool

So tell all your friends to recycle it all

The green dream of recycling

My wardrobe is full of this stuff,
bags, shoes and clothes I don't wear
enough is enough.
I'll put it in bags and throw it away,
I've been meaning to do it for months anyway.
I'd put it to use if only I could,
I mean, why waste whats perfectly good...
Whats that you say?
Recycling pays?
You're having a laugh, theres simply no way.
So I get paid for doing a good deed?
Gaining extra cash from things I don't need...
Sounds great, I'll join in,
It saves some great clothes from going in the bin.
It also means less landfill, and thats a win-win.
Maintaining planet earth, and keeping it strong,
Keeping clothes on people, where they belong.
Do whats right and don't think twice,
because we don't we the earth to be paying the price.

Making a difference is no longer a dream.

Recycling means to use things,
Again and again and again.
And when we say recycling,
We don't mean your pen.
Recycling is used many places in,
And when you recycle,
Just don't throw it in the bin
You can recyle all sorts of things,
But not things that bite,
Or things that sting,
Recyle plastic, paper or cans!!
So when you finish something like a drink,
Don't throw it in the bin,
Just think.
Recycling makes the world more clean,
And it makes the grass and trees more green.
You can recycle glass and cans,
But it's hard work so you'll need a fan.
You could give your old to a charity shop if they don't fit you anymore.
In the shop they have clothes galore!!
Kids or adults can recycle,
Oh yes you can recycle your old bicycle.
Recycling is an invention
That began many years ago,
It is a good invention,
As well you all know.
There's many ways to recycle,
You bring your rags to the rag bank,
You bring your bottles too,
To put them in the bottle bank,
To have them used again.There's different colour bottle banks,
Like green, blue and red,
The men collect them to take them away,
Befor you go to bed.

recycling poem and the future

I've been 4.55 billion years in the making, a beautiful revolving blue sphere,
where everything's finely balanced with a protective atmosphere.

But this fragile balance is being threatened by the actions of the human race,
harmful emissions damaging my atmosphere, ugly landfills filled with waste.

Here's a plea to you all earth-dwelling humans, every child, woman and man,
try to recycle the daily waste produced as much as you possibly can.

It will help me feel better and reduce any further damage being done,
Only if everyone does their bit, by recycling, can the battle be won.

So collect everything from glass, cardboard, paper, aluminium and plastic,
so it can be processed and turned into something new and fantastic.

Grass cuttings, textiles, small electricals,  batteries and leftover food,
a lot of your waste can be recycled cheaply into something good.

Things such as insulation, steel beams and fibreglass made from glass jars,
carpets, backpacks, school uniforms, napkins and new parts for your cars.

Recycling saves natural resources, requiring less energy each time,
reduces water pollution and protects wildllife of every kind.

By recycling you can prevent global warming and preserve valuable landfill space,
reduce damage to the environment and make  me a much nicer place.

I might look truly indestructible  but in space I'm just  a fragile "pale blue dot",
so please take good care of me because I'm the only home you've got.
