recycle it here, recycle it now

recycle the future its here to stay recycle it now that's what I have to say
cash to recycle make it more fun
no more reasons not to join in, so stop throwing it in the bin
no more landfill for them unwanted clothes
you no longer wearing them for that special pose
they give you cash the recycle them now
collected from your door how easy it is
you do your bit while getting paid
so no more excuses I am affraid

Our world is our childrens future

I bought my grandson a box of paints,
and a massive drawing pad,
His eues devoured the colours,
his childhood never had.

How could his birds soar in sky so blue,
with clouds so pure and white;
His flowers dance in shades of green,
and know to keep black for night.

When the brush stops I watch him,
as he climbs upon a chair,
"please granny " he asks and points,
can I put my picture there?

He pulls back the curtains,
puts his painting against the glass:
does this really look like  grandpa told,
and like they teach in Class?

Yes it really was that perfect,
I wish you could of seen,
"my teacher said that it might be still,
if everyone had gone green".

A tear ran down my wrinkly cheek,
"I think she might be right",
I`m not sure granny he chuckled,
green would make you look a sight!

I awoke to the sound of the alrm clock,
with the sadness of what might be,
if we didn`t start recycling, but first
things first, a nice cup of green tea.
